At Yorkshire Trails we love creating new ways to make learning fun. All our Trails are aimed at getting people outside exploring and learning in a healthy and entertaining way.
The mix of directions, clues, puzzles and fun facts get children (and adults!) of all ages thinking whilst being outside in the fresh air which is why we have created our series of educational products for schools based around our Trails.
School Trip Activities

A great value educational activity to explore your local town or as part of a school day trip or overnight excursion.
Our self-run activity packs come with an accompanying Teacher's Pack complete with full instructions, a suggested activity plan, answer sheet, route map, risk assessment and curriculum links.

Clue Writing Workshops
As professional trail writers, one of the best parts of our job is getting out there and setting clues.
In this two-hour workshop, children will first solve a mini-mystery. Next, we present a fun storybuilding activity to create a back story for our treasure hunt. The class then work in groups to create their own clue plaques and written clues using their literacy, numeracy and art & design skills.
Your class or group will then get to complete their own Trail, solving all the clues to solve the mystery!
Trail Writing Projects

A more involved teacher-led project spread over several weeks or a whole term where, under your supervision with our instructions and guidance, your class or year group will create their very own Trail around your local area.
Pupils will write the directions, devise the clues and researching snippets of interesting school or local history to be included in the Trail. We will then upload the Trail into our software and make it available for you to use for your school’s fundraising, PTA events etc.
